Who are we and why did we start this website?
Professionally, we are not connected to the culinary industry. Each of us has our job in completely different fields, but culinary art is our passion. Wherever we are, we love trying new ingredients, new flavours, new dishes, and new flavour combinations. When we travel, we always strive to discover local delicacies. We try everything, from street food and local bars to elegant restaurants. However, our true passion since our first visit to Atelier Amaro in Warsaw is fine dining. We have already visited many Michelin-starred restaurants and plan to test more. This is why we want to share this passion with our readers.
Why the name Stellar Plates?
Stellar Plates is, of course, related to the Michelin stars awarded to the best restaurants. However, Michelin is not just about stars but also recommendations, among which we find interesting tasting menu options. There are also many restaurants serving tasting dinners that have not been recognized by the Michelin Guide because inspectors do not visit every city (we have visited them or will soon). Sometimes, a star is awarded to restaurants that do not serve tastings at all (we will not overlook these, of course).
The problem with starred restaurants is that it can sometimes be difficult to get a table. Reservations at the best restaurants in the world sometimes have to be made months in advance. We will visit such restaurants, but we will not limit ourselves to them. We do not want this to be a place only for connoisseurs. We will also present more accessible restaurants that offer interesting experiences.
We would like this site to be a place where enthusiasts like us can find knowledge about fine dining. We read and conduct our research due to the nature of our professional work. We want to share this.
